How long does it take to tell a story? Are three minutes enough? In general, are they too few or even too many?
We challenged image creators to call into question our usual ways to tell a story, beyond the prevailing categories of this time: the traditional length of films as well as the tight times of TV series, the graceful brevity of short stories, but also the super-fast fragmentation of IG stories.
Like a book of haikus you can watch, you will be amazed by the festival programme, because of all the strategies adopted by filmmakers to capture life in such a short time.
Whether it’s about portraying huge worlds or going deeper in the most intimate relationships, describing reality through blatant and essential images or manipulating those same images in order to provoke strong reactions of the irrational part of those watching, there’s one single common denominator: keep it short.
