The 13th edition of the CinEast festival runs from 8 to 25 October at numerous venues in the city of Luxembourg and elsewhere in the country, in strict compliance with all the health measures and recommendations in force, including distancing in cinemas etc. For the first time, CinEast will offer a large number of films also online through a dedicated VOD platform (access limited to audiences residing in the country). Tickets for the physical screenings as well as the “CinEast online cinema” will have to be reserved online. Ticket prices are 7 EUR (physical screenings) and 5 EUR (online screenings). A “hybrid” pass (5 cinema screenings + 5 online screenings) will also be on sale at the price of 30 EUR.
On the festival programme: more than 45 feature films and 20 short films from 21 different countries, a photographic exhibition, 4 musical events, 4 ciné-debates and encounters with approx. 20 guests.
The 2020 festival opens with the black comedy Comrade Drakulich by Hungarian director Márk Bodzsár on 8 October (7 p.m., Neimënster - Salle Krieps, in the original version, subtitled in English, reduced capacity, confirmation of attendance and wearing a mask compulsory). The film will be presented as part of this year’s Focus on Hungary.
