KIM KI-DUK IS BACK...AND FANTAS OPENS IN KOREAN
25th DIRECTOR´S WEEK BRINGS 13 NEW FILMS AND BETWEEN THEM FOUR EUROPEAN AND WORLD OPENINGS
Most modern problems are present in the Official Section Directors Week /Manoel de Oliveira Award of the 35th Fantasporto. The films selected for this part of the program approach the classical thrillers, showcasing rejection and anxiety , with varied subjects such as urban violence, children’s exploitation, the drama of clandestine sea travellers, the defense of the honour, the drama of the emigrants ou contoversial science experiments. This Official Section has 13 features, all in national premieres, with 2 World premieres and two European premieres. It is also the first time that the festival opens with a oriental film, “Haemoo”, South Korean entry for the Oscars.
