ODESSA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 5th EDITION (JULY 11 – 19, 2014)

Twelve full-length films will compete in the International Competition for the main award of the 5th OIFF, the Golden Duke. The National Competition will comprise 13 short and 7 full-length films. Two Ukrainian movies will be featured in both the National and International competition: MY MERMAID, MY LORELEI directed by Nana Dzhordzhadze, and THE GUIDE, directed by Oles Sanin (World Premiere). Both films participated in last year’s “Work-in-progress” of the Festival.

«2014 is anniversary year for the Odessa International Film Festival», said the President of the Festival, Viktoriya Tigipko. «This year has been very difficult and at the same time momentous both for the country and every one of us. Our team is doing the very best for this festival to happen and be held on a top level. We have been supported in our aspiration by our colleagues: over 250 influential representatives of international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin and Venice, have outspoken their support of our festival. Their support demonstrates that OIFF, during the five years of its existence, has exceeded the level of a national event and made its way to an international film festivals agenda.»
