The youngest among us will be able to enjoy six films offered by the Festival’s Official Collaborator
San Sebastian Festival will present a selection of six films especially intended for an audience of children which, for the second consecutive year, will be sponsored by the company Amenabar, which is in turn an Official Festival Collaborator.
The section will include a total of five animated films and one combining real life images with animation. The former are Alfonbra magikoa (Up and Away), narrating the adventures of Hodja and his flying carpet; Terra Willy: Planeta ezezaguna (Terra Willy: Unexplored planet), starring a young boy, a robot and an alien creature; Mr. Link: Jatorri galdua (Missing Link) about a researcher dedicated to myths and monsters; Playmobil: Filma (Playmobil: the movie), a fascinating voyage into the universe of the popular toymakers; and Manou (Manou the Swift), about a little swift who wants to be a seagull. In addition to these, Pokémon Pikatxu detektibea (Pokémon Detective Pikachu) is the first film with real life images to be based on the universe of the famous Pokémon franchise.
On weekends during the Festival a number of screenings will be programmed for family audiences in the Príncipe cinemas. All of the films will be dubbed into Basque, thanks to the collaboration of Zineuskadi in the framework of the Zinema euskaraz programme. The San Sebastian Festival, which has been bringing the cinema to the youngest among us for more than three decades thanks to its Movies for Kids section, wishes to say a very special thank you to Amenabar which, in such a complicated year, continues its commitment to the families of Gipuzkoa and to generating new audiences.
Amenabar, an Official Festival Collaborator since last year, is one of Spain’s leading property developers backed by almost 40 years’ experience which, besides having its own property development and construction companies, also has other resource-providing endeavours (a quarry, tarmac plant, technical teams and sampler factory, among others). Specialised in promotion and construction, with the experience of having built in excess of 25,600 homes, today the company has more than 62 developments in Spain. Apart from the above, Amenabar is responsible for hugely emblematic buildings including the Kursaal, the Basque Culinary Center, the Biodonostia Health Research Institute, Tabakalera and the San Telmo Museum, all located in San Sebastian.
