The new dates of the 39th Istanbul Film Festival are set as 9-20 October 2020.

39TH ISTANBUL FILM FESTIVAL NATIONAL COMPETITION AND NATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION TO BE HELD ON 17-28 JULY 

 

The 39th Istanbul Film Festival, organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) with the support of Republic of TurkeyMinistry of Culture and Tourism, was postponed to a later date due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The largest, most established, and most influential film festival in Turkey, Istanbul Film Festival will hold its National Competition and National Short Film Competition in cooperation with Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum (SSM) between 17 and 28 July.

The screenings of 11 feature films and 12 short films will be held at the open air cinema to be set up at the Sakıp Sabancı Museum (SSM) on 17-28 July. Every evening at 21.00, a feature film and a short film will be screened together. The screenings will be held with the participation of film crews.

Both competitions are within the Turkish Cinema section of the festival, organised under the sponsporship of Anadolu Efes for the 31st time.

The competition films will also be screened online on filmonline.iksv.org.

The remaining screenings of the 39th Istanbul Film Festival will be held between 9-20 October. The programme of the festival, which will be held joined with Filmekimi, will be announced on the social media channels and the website of the festival in due time.
