We are pleased to finally announce the Official Film Selection of the 2020 Sacramento French Film Festival/Virtual Edition, starting next Friday, June 19 and continuing till Sunday, June 28. You can find our viewing platform at 2020.sacramentofrenchfilmfestival.org
The 2020 Selection consists of 10 feature films presented over the course of 10 days. It includes everything you need to spend these 10 days with us: comedy, thriller, mystery, romance, drama, and even a dystopian sci-fi comedy... It will take you on travels all over France, and all the way to South Korea, the Central African Republic, and Tunisia... And we are particularly proud to present the latest films by two of our favorite directors, Robert Guédiguian and Arnaud Desplechin; both winners of the 2020 César for Best Actress & Actor, Roschdy Zem and Anaïs Demoustier; and two first films directed by women, Sara Suco and Manele Labidi.
The first film in our program, the crowd-pleaser and witty whodunit, The Mystery of Henri Pick, will joyfully kick off the Festival on Friday, June 19, starting at 6pm (we'll meet right before on Zoom for our Virtual Opening Ceremony, but more on that later...)
Till then, please visit our platform to find out more about each film, watch trailers, or purchase your rental in advance. Please note that, per contract with the film distributors, most films have a limited number of viewers allowed, so we encourage you to make your choice early!
A new film will become available for rental every day, with the exception of the final three films which will all be made available on Friday, June 26, so that you have the weekend to watch them. Each film will be available to rent for 3 days.
Click HERE for more details on rental conditions, system requirements, and how to connect your computer to your TV set.
Other festivities will include Zoom Q&As with Le Professeur Elstob and guests; and ideas for "Dinner & a Movie/Home Edition" in which we are partnering with local restaurants to offer special SFFF meal package to go! More details coming soon.
