COVID-19 update: Postponing the Women+Film Festival

To our Denver Film and Women+Film guests:

As you may know, in response to the ongoing health concerns and state of Colorado mandates related to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and public gatherings, we temporarily closed the Sie FilmCenter earlier this week. The required 30-day closure from Gov. Polis will keep our theaters closed through April 15 at which time the situation will be evaluated. In addition, we are also postponing our 2020 Women+Film Festival scheduled for April 14-19 in Denver.

Our hope is to be able to reschedule this 10th Anniversary edition of Women + Film sometime later in the year once a clear understanding of our community’s health situation and other key details come into focus. In the meantime, we will do whatever is within our power and resources to honor our commitments in terms of partnerships and sponsorships as we reschedule the Festival.

Until then, guests who have purchased individual tickets and/or ticket packages to events and screenings for this year’s Festival will be eligible for a full credit to your account which can be used for a potentially rescheduled Women + Film Festival later this year. As a not-for-profit organization, we would also ask that you seriously consider donating your existing ticket purchase to our organization as a meaningful contribution that will help us maintain and support our staff through this crisis. Your consideration and donations are greatly appreciated.

Again, we view each and every one of you as an extension of our family and we care deeply about each of you and our community as a whole. This is a fast changing and evolving situation and our top priority remains the health, wellness, and safety of our audiences, guests and staff.

As more information becomes available, updates to our daily operations and events and Festival status will be conveyed via email and will also be posted on the Denver Film website and via our social media platforms: Facebook; Twitter; and Instagram. You can also call or email Denver Film at: boxoffice@denverfilm.org or 720-381-0813.

Thank you for your continued support of Denver Film. We hope that you and your network of family and friends stay safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing you back in our theaters and our Festivals in the near future.

Best,

Signed by Britta Erickson, Interim Executive Director and Festival Director, as well as Barbara Bridges, Founder of Women Plus Film.
