The submission of entries for participation in XVII Baikal International Film Festival “People and Environment” n.a. V. G. Rasputin, will be held from 14 till 18 of September 2018 in Irkutsk, has been opened. The Festival “People and Environment” was conceived by the organizers as a film platform which gives the possibility to think about complicated relationship between human and nature.
The Festival program includes contest screenings of documentary and popular-science films, feature and full-dome films and social-ecological videos; non-contest themed programs chosen from the films and videos participating in the competition or specially chosen by the organizers; professional panel discussions in the form of round-tables, conferences, forums, press-discussions, workshops from prominent filmmakers and scientists. Baikal pitching for young cinematographers is held within the frameworks of the Festival.
The Festival jury committee will evaluate the films in the following nominations:
· Grand Prix n.a. V. Rasputin (including 200 000 Russian rubles award);
· Best documentary film n.a. M. Romm;
· Best popular-science film n.a. I. Cherskiy;
· Best full-dome film n.a. Don-Otello;
· Best feature film n.a. L. Gaidai
· Best social-ecological video
· “Baikal” Prize – for acuteness of the problem (film on the most actual ecological problems);
The Festival jury committee reserves a right to award a film from any nomination with a special diploma.
There are special awards of the Festival as well:
· Youth Jury Award;
· Mass Media Award;
· Audience Award;
State, public, educational entities and other organizations present their awards at the Festival, as well as the personalized awards. The winners of the Festival are awarded with prizes (statuettes), diplomas.
Festival provides accommodation and catering for the films’ representatives included into contest program. Also within the available funds transportation expenses can be reimbursed (fully or partially).
Entry Forms are accepted till 1st of June 2018.
