Today the program of the 27th edition of the Stockholm International Film Festival is announced. 200 films from 70 countries will be screened during the festival November 9-20.
- We are very proud over this year’s exciting program with 200 films from 70 countries. Our new section Discovery presents only new directors which results in a large number of new filmmakers. Stockholm Visionary Award is awarded to the French director François Ozon and Spotlight: Identity presents films about the journey to a new identity, says Git Scheynius, festival director of Stockholm Film Festival.
The Stockholm Film Festival inaugurates with Ken Loach’s praised film I, Daniel Blake. The middle film is Birth of a Nation by Nate Parker. Kenneth Lonergans Manchester by the Sea closes the festival. The festival will, as previously mentioned, be visited by Francis Ford Coppola who will attend two events during the festival.
Tickets are for sale starting today, Tuesday October 18, 11 am exclusively for members, at www.stockholmfilmfestival.se. The Festival Centre at Kulturhuset opens October 25. You can purchase the tickets and get the festival program there.
