Frankfurt Book Fair gears up for Lowlands Film at Berlinale

Juergen Boos, Director of the Frankfurt Book Fair popped champagne today welcoming the Dutch/Flanders film industry to the 2016 mega-gathering of the publishing world which will take place 19-23 October.

The Netherlands and Flanders are the Book Fair's joint Guests of Honour 2016.

The Netherlands Film Fund and EYE International announced a specially designed programme with focus on storytelling and book adaptations to different platforms from Flanders and the Netherlands. The programme will include film screenings and a meeting programme for professional visitors of the Book Fair, including writers, publishers, literary agents and film producers.

The film programme with classic and recent films from the Netherlands and Flanders is a partnership between EYE International, Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF) and the German Film Museum. In this framework a curation of Dutch and Flemish films will be presented at the German Film Museum.

The professional meeting programme will be presented as part of StoryDrive and will include workshops and matchmaking sessions for film- and TV producers and publishers.

The programme is developed in close collaboration with Frankfurt Book Fair and with support from the associated partner Berlin International Film Festival /Books at Berlinale.
