8th annual Minneapolis Underground Film Festival will feature over 110 short films, and 14 feature length films to choose from.
 
The official opening on Wednesday, October 7, will featuring three different MN Made short film selections, one at 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm and 7:15 pm featuring a Q&A after each screening. Our late night screening of “SNUFF” at 9:30 pm is celebrating the eight year local filmmakers Paul Von Stoetzel has screened with the M.U.F.F. Along with featuring over 30 MN Short Films on our opening day we will be featuring MN Made films throughout the festival. Some Short Film Selection highlights include:
 
Irons in the Fire is a documentary about five under-privileged youth who changed their life through the help of creative organizations and mentors, starring George the Poet and narrated by Idris Elba. It screens before the American Premiere of The Sound Before the Fury by Martin Sarrazac a documentary about Archie Shepp revisiting his album Attica Blues while intervening the narrative of the Attica Prison Rebellion.
 
Surreal B&W Shorts on Sunday, October 11 at 5:10pm  is a selection of like minded short films featuring Ferdinand Knapp by Andrea Baldini starring Dominique Pinon (Delicatessen & City of Lost Children) who blurs the lines between the films character and his own.
 
Relationship Remix is a selection of short films that deal with various aspects of relationships and MN Made films that deal with love and loss. Screening Friday, October 9 at 6:00 pm. For those that question reality of love sci-fi films we recommend Reality Remix screening on the same day at 4pm.
 
This years GLBT Short films feature a local documentary, Tom of Finland dolls that trigger buried desires, teens, handjobs, Cousin Wonderletter and world-renowned icon Buck Angel! GLBT Shorts screens Thursday, October 8 at 5:00 pm.
