The Finnish Film Affair will be organized for the fourth time on Sept 22-24th as part of the Helsinki International Film Festival. This year's edition will introduce a Work-In-Progress award for the most promising project. Selected by a jury comopsed of international experts participating the event, the winner will receive an international marketing package.
The Finnish Film Affair has become the leading industry platform for showcasing new projects to sales agents, buyers and programmers. The Finnish Film Affair will present between twenty to thirty projects in three categories (Works-In-Progress, one-minute pitch and the development clinic) and around 15-20 finished films will be screened.
Focus on the US market This year the Finnish Film Affair will focus on the US market. A seminar will be organised on Thu Sept 24th covering topics such as packaging, marketing and PR. HIFF managing director Sara Norberg explains, "The motivation for the US theme is based on the recent success of films like Big Game and the growing interest to produce English language films intended primarily for the international markets. FFA wants to serve this emerging need by facilitating consultation sessions and a panel discussion on how the Finnish projects should approach the US market." Project Development Clinic |
